The "Type" command types out the contents of a file onto your screen.

The MS-DOS Editor is a text editor like the Notepad program in Windows. The "Edit" command opens it, as demonstrated below.

To change the attributes of a file, use the "Attrib" command. It's the same attributes that you can change in Windows by right-clicking the file and pushing "Properties".
