THE INTERGALACTIC FEDERATION OF CEREALS

The Intergalactic Federation of Cereals, or IFC, was created following the Cold Cereal Wars in the early part of the 2nd millenium. Ever since, peace and free trade have prevailed throughout the known universe, with the exception of occasional skirmishes along several deep space quadrants.

Today the IFC is led by its Senior Cereal Council, which is responsible for security, planetoid grievances, and astro-blobule advisories.

THE FLEMOIDS

The Bazoik scientists found that certain blobules (squiggly microscopic creatures) contained strange eggs with an abnormal phase frequency. When given tiny drops of milk, Chex, or other nutritional substances, those eggs exploded into full maturity in a matter of minutes. They turned into evil, cereal-eating creatures from another dimension: flemoids!

Within minutes, the laboratory was overrun by these slime-slinging monsters. Before long, the entire Bazoik Nutritional Development Center was infested with flemoids, and the citizens are now being held in a small cavern deep in the Mineral Mines. Fortunately, the Chex Science Team, investigating blobules found on asteroids that originated from the Bazoik volcano, soon made the same discovery. A meeting was immediately held, and the Chex Warrior volunteered to fly to Bazoik and attempt a rescue of the IFC citizens.

THE CHEX WARRIOR — FRED CHEXTER
Known as "kind of shy and studious" in high school, Fred Chexter came into his own after joining the IFC Command Force in 2198. Within five years he was commissioned as the youngest squadron leader in IFC history. Today he leads the Chex Squadron, an intergalactic SWAT team called in to quell disputes along the Federation's deep space frontiers.

Still considered "quiet and unassuming" by his many friends, the Chex Warrior is somebody that no denizen of intergalactic evil dares "mess with" in battle...that is, except the flemoids.

ADMIRAL WHEET
Admiral Muriel Wheet runs a tight universe. Competent, smart, and calm under gossip, her leadership style is tough but fair. More importantly, she holds the trust and respect of the Senior Council, which she has led for the past 20 years.

As a young girl, Muriel Wheet awoke one night with a vision for an end to hunger in the universe. She scrawled her visionary message across her bedroom wall, for which she paid dearly when her parents saw it the next morning. Thus, Muriel Wheet committed her life to the advancement of nutritional cereals and, at the age of seven, founded the Nutritional Development Center on the planet of Bazoik.

DR. CRISPINBOWL
Clumsy but bright, Dr. Josh Crispinbowl is the IFC's foremost expert on nutritional research and a close personal friend of Admiral Wheet.

It was a research team under Dr. Crispinbowl's direction that first discovered the flemoids apart from the as-yet unreported Bazoik encounters. They had been analyzing microscopic blobules on an asteroid that came from a Bazoik volcano, when they detected strange eggs inside the blobules. Further investigation led to the discovery that the eggs' phase frequencies were each 19 millijules from normal: they had come from another dimension! Before long they'd observed the flemoids' amazing growth explosion in the presence of nutritional substances. Immediately they began to worry about the Bazoik establishment: these blobules came from Bazoik, and in a Nutritional Development Center there is nutrition...

LIEUTENANT LOOP
To put it simply, Lieutenant "Lucky" Loop has more muscles than brains. But his most remarkable quality isn't his strength, it's his astounding luck.

When logic defies Dr. Crispinbowl to make the right choice from an array of logical options, Admiral Wheet often asks Lucky Loop to pick one...even though Lucky has no idea what the problem is! He's right more often than not, which drives Dr. Crispinbowl crazy.

Fortunately for the universe, Lucky Loop doesn't seem interested in playing Intergalactic PowerBall.

JOE FLAKOVICH
Joe Flakovich is...well, just Joe. He's everyone's friend and confidant, the one person who everyone, including Admiral Wheet, talks to when frustrated with his/her work. His biggest ambition in life seems to be to not have an ambition.

But, Joe has a secret, too...

Belinda, a successful newsreel reporter, gets what she wants because she's smart and aggressive, yet also compassionate. The hierarchy of the Intergalactic Federation of Cereals knows better than to "bend the rules" around Belinda because she has a strong commitment to justice and an unbelievable instinct for a good story.

But, Belinda Bran has a secret...

FLEMOIDUS COMMONUS
The Flemoidus Commonus has a relatively simple DNA structure, making it the most common flemoid for a larva to morph into. It spews slime at you through its nose, but is only a small threat unless in large numbers.

FLEMOID LARVA
Most of the time, a flemoid egg will first morph into a larva before preparing to take on the DNA structure of a more specific variety. These larvae are small and helpless, their only function being to absorb enough nutrition to become full-sized flemoids.

Chex scientists have speculated, however, that if certain DNA mutations occurred, a larva could possibly continue to grow bigger and stronger without transforming into a different type of flemoid. If this occurred, there could exist a new specie of "super-larvae" that would be big and strong enough to be dangerous.

FLEMOIDUS BIPEDICUS
Requiring a more complicated DNA structure and a little more nutrition than a Commonus, Bipedici (plural of Bipedicus) are the only flemoids to walk on two legs. They can blast slime at you with their arms and nose at the same time, making them very annoying. Keep your distance around these guys!

FUN FACT: The scientific name "Bipedicus" comes from the root "biped" which means "two legs."

FLEMOIDUS CYCLOPTIS
The Flemoidus Cycloptis is believed to be shapeless, holding no definite form. To compensate, they have all been equipped with well-armored floating mechanisms. Built into these floating contraptions are powerful slime-extraction tubes, which will plaster slime onto onto opponents at an amazing slime-per-second factor (spsf). Due to the nature of their floating equipment, these are the only flemoids capable of approaching high speeds.

FUN FACT: The scientific name "Cycloptis" comes from "Cyclops," a one-eyed giant in ancient Greek mythology.

FLEMOIDUS MAXIMUS
The hulking Flemoidus Maximus is the most powerful flemoid known to Chex Intelligence. Many times more powerful than a Quadrumpus, a Maximus can hurl huge slimeballs the size of your head. And the amount of zorching required to send one of these flemoids back to its dimension is tremendous.

Most people's first reaction to seeing a Maximus is simple: run. The only people who don't run are either fools or heroes. Let's hope you're the latter.

FLEMOIDUS QUADRUMPUS
Bred for combat, the burly Flemoidus Quadrumpus has the ability to hurl balls of slime across long distances, making it every bit as dangerous as the fast and furious Cycloptis. And if you get too close, their hands' suction-like form lets them really stick the slime into you!

FUN FACT: The scientific name "Quadrumpus" comes from the prefix "quad-", referring to the Quadrumpus's four arms.
