What Happens After Death?
Will You Rest in Peace?

Which will I go to, and how can I be sure?

For emphasis, I would like to repeat two verses that I listed earlier:

Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it [heaven] any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

As is clearly indicated by the above passages, anyone who fits into any of the sins in that list will go to hell, and only those written in the Lamb's Book of Life will go to heaven. If at this point you are still hopeful, read the above verses more carefully. In both of them, a lie is mentioned. To God, deception is a serious offense, enough to condemn you to death in hell. Read the following verse carefully:

James 2:10-11 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

What a heart-rending thought! The following verse gives some more insight:

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

In Genesis you can read about how God made laws that had consequences and Adam and Eve broke them by eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Hence man fell, was separated from God, and became spiritually dead, and has been degenerating ever since. God loved man, but He had established the way of things, and it would have been silly for God to change His law as soon as man broke it. To break one's own rules shows lack of character, but God is righteous and holy.

Ezekiel 18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

God's love becomes even clearer in the following verse:

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

God's love for man was so strong that He made a way for man to turn from His sin and be reunited with God!

Acts 3:18-19 But those things, which God before had showed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

What the above verse says plainly is spoken of in much greater detail in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Christ came to this earth, a true man and yet still God Himself. He lived a sinless life, and then He selflessly gave His life to man by His death on the cross. Now the prophecy has been fulfilled, and whoever will turn to Him will be freed from the bonds of sin and become a child of God! There is hope for man, and Jesus has made that hope a reality!

Romans 5:18-19 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

From birth you have been born into a curse, unable to truly communicate with God, separated from Him, and a fallen being. But if you turn to God, repent from (turn away from) your sins, and follow God, that will change!

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

God saved me and it is wonderful to truly be His child. I exhort you—advise you—to turn to God, repent, and become, as it says two excerpts up, "a new creature." It will change your life! And as a child of God, your name will be written in the Lamb's Book of Life, and, though you will continue to battle with sin, the blood of Jesus will cleanse you and God will see you as sinless. That is a loving God!
